Real-Life Shirelle Shirley Alston Reeves to Jam With the Cast of Baby It's You!

The cast of the new musical Baby It’s You! will welcome Shirley Alston Reeves, original lead singer of the Shirelles, to Broadway for five post-show concerts, July 19-22, at the Broadhurst Theatre.

Portrayed by Christina Sajous in this musical retelling of the discovery of the original girl group by Florence Greenberg (2011 Tony nominee Beth Leavel), Alston Reeves sang lead on many of the Shirelles’ greatest hits including “Mama Said,” “Tonight’s the Night,” “Baby It’s You” and “This Is Dedicated to the One I Love.” She became a member of the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and continues to perform across America.

In addition to Leavel and Sajous, the cast of Baby It’s You! includes Allan Louis, Geno Henderson, Erica Ash, Kelli Barrett, Kyra Da Costa, Erica Dorfler, Jahi A. Kearse, Barry Pearl, Crystal Starr and Brandon Uranowitz.
